Debut novel from the acclaimed short story writer
Post -Apocolyptic stories are everywhere right now. It feels like I can’t browse through a selection of movies, books, tv shows or comics without coming across one. Not that I’m complaining — I like the genre. It brings out the sci-if geek in me. ‘Find Me’ is post-apocolyptic, but a refreshing take on it. There are no zombies or totalitarian governments. Instead there is an incurable disease and normal people trying to cope the best they can. The main character is a girl that is immune to ‘the sickness’ trying to find her mother, who abandoned her when she was a baby. The book is hauntingly beautiful and manages to ask what it takes to survive, without going over the top.
